Trier Information Centre Against Domestic Violence (CHG Trier)
CHG services in the regional court district of Trier
Violence in relationships and marriages is a cycle which is difficult to escape from alone. We offer:
- advice
- and social group training
for people who want to change their violent behaviour.
Initially individual discussions take place. Admission to a current group is aimed at.
The group work is then done in single-gender groups (e.g. purely men’s groups). The group management is done with equal gender representation (man/woman).
Our target groups
Men and women who perpetrate violence in close social relationships.
These are clients who
- come to us of their own free will (self-referring).
- are recommended to get in touch with us in the context of interrogation by the police.
- have received a sanction from the Crown Prosecution Service in accordance with § 153a StPO².
- or receive a probation stipulation from the court to use the CHG services.
The targets of our work are
- ending the perpetration of violence
- accepting responsibility for one’s own actions
- learning how to handle unpleasant situations and feelings without violence
- solving conflicts and arguments without violence
- victim protection through working with offenders
Our work is based on the standards for working with offenders set by the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft für Täterarbeit, BAG TäHG e.V. http://www.bag-täterarbeit.de
