Advice and help for prostitutes

Sex work is different to any other job. The services involved are used by around 1.2 million men daily in Germany, yet the service providers themselves are set apart socially.
Often they lead a double life so that outside this environment nobody is aware of their work. The reasons why a woman provides sexual services are many, as are the reasons why she might want to continue with it or escape from it.

ROXANNE takes up this issue and actively approaches the sex workers!

What we offer:

Streetwork

We regularly visit locations where prostitution takes place. This includes brothels, clubs, apartments used for prostitution work and the streetwalker’s patch.
Our scouting work initially lets people know that the information centre exists. This will also make it easier to make further contact with Roxanne.

Where possible we also provide advice locally and offer information and materials on topics relevant to sex work.

Advice

ROXANNE advises on all problems and issues which sex workers are faced with. We offer individual psychological advice, crisis intervention, support care in getting out of prostitution and provide contacts for further help if required.
Relatives and friends of prostitutes can also turn to us.

Networking and public relations

In addition we cooperate with other information centres and institutions. We take part in various working groups, are networked with other specialist information centres across Germany and inform the public about our services and issues concerning sex workers.
